VA PATIENT PROGRAMS
The Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System's Patient Advocate Program strives to give all patients the power to freely express and voice out their opinions. Veterans are able to contact a team of professional, well-trained patient advocates (The Joint Commission) anytime they have unresolved issues/problems with the hospital about lack of quality or safety. These advocates are willing to serve customers and also reply to any questions or comments from the patients. This way, the veterans can feel confident in knowing that there is always someone available to assist them with their most personal problems.
Some of the patient programs include:
Men's Trauma Recovery Program (MTRP)
-The mission of the MTRP is to help Veterans "achieve their highest level of functioning, promote reintegration into their communities, and facilitate reconnection with families and loved ones".
Women's Trauma Recovery Program (WTRP)
-The WTRP provides residential treatment for military women with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
The Homeless Veterans Rehabilitation Program (HVRVP)
-The primary goal of the HVRVP is to help Veterans return to employment and stable housing while maintaining a clean and sober lifestyle.
MOVE Program
-The MOVE Program is designed to help veterans manage/lose weight and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
TeleQuit Smoking Cessation Program
-The TeleQuit Program offers education, counseling, and smoking cessation medication to help Veterans stop smoking and live healthier.
